Linda Baird, M.A. is psychotherapist in private practice with offices in Denver and Boulder. She works with depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, PTSD, and relationship issues including domestic violence. Linda offers a compassionate approach to psychotherapy, encouraging clients explore how limiting beliefs and trauma are held in the body, often below the level of conscious awareness. Her practice is rooted in the principles of the Hakomi method: therapist and client work together to create a safe healing environment where change can happen organically through the encouragement of self-study and non-violence.

Linda incorporates a variety of techniques, including movement; Hakomi methods for working with trauma, shame, anger, boundaries, and developmental wounds; psychodrama; inner child work; EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing); and methods in yoga therapy including breathwork and supported postures to instill the joyful expression of the authentic Self.

Linda brings a strong spiritual foundation into her work, having studied in several traditions over the last 25 years. Currently, she is a committed student of Anusara yoga.

Initially educated as a biochemist, Linda worked as a research scientist for 16 years. She has extensively studied brain chemistry related to emotional, psychological, and physiological difficulties.

Linda holds a B.S. from the University of Colorado and a Master's in Liberal Studies, psychology emphasis, from Regis University in Denver. She trained at the Institute for Emotional-Kinesthetic Psychotherapy in Boston, MA, and the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (formerly Hakomi Somatics Institute) in Boulder, CO and is a Certified Hakomi Therapist.   She has been a teaching assistant with the Hakomi Institute and in the Somatic Psychology graduate program at Naropa University.
