Welcome to my website and my blog

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and my blog. If you are new to my site, welcome.  If you have been here before, thank you for coming back. I hope that you will leave my site feeling inspired and intrigued about the area of my work. Today I would like to share with you a recent interview I gave on the subject of yoga and ethics, on the podcast: Changing the Face of Yoga. The very talented Stephanie Cunningham interviewed me earlier in August 2017.
When people hear the word “ethics” they often roll their eyes and think, “boring!”  When I became involved with the Right Use of Power Institute (or RUPI), founded by my colleague Dr. Cedar Barstow, and subsequently became a member of the Hakomi International Ethics Committee going on 15 years ago, “ethics” came alive as a rich and embodied exploration, with the ability to significantly change the way we experience ethical issues and the “power differential,” which refers to the difference in power and influence that one may have as a teacher, doctor, or parent, for example.  Through experiential learning, we build bridges and facilitate deeper connection and understanding, instead of walling ourselves off from each other with anger and blame.

I’m excited to share this interview with you

More recently, I was asked by my respected teacher, Yogarupa Rod Stryker, to both assist in the rewriting of our code of ethics and our grievance process, a was well as teach aspects of Right Use of Power to a group of teachers in our ParaYoga community.

Stephanie Cunningham found me through RUPI.

The interview was released on August 9th, 2017. You can find the podcast on both Itunes, or on her website here.
